Psychiatric features

Neuropsychiatric disorders are common in Parkinson’s disease, with a recent study estimating that almost three quarters of patients exhibit at least one neuropsychiatric problem. Symptoms include depression, anxiety, apathy, agitation, delusions and hallucinations, and the severity of symptoms depends on disease duration. Depression in particular is a significant contributor to poor quality of life in patients with PD.
