Gamma knife surgery

Gamma knife surgery is a non-invasive technique that uses gamma radiation to destroy small areas of tissue. Targets include the thalamus and subthalamic nucleus. However, gamma knife surgery is irreversible and so rarely used, and its benefits in controlling the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease are open to debate.
